Notice of receipt of a proposed Neighbourhood Plan

Kilburn Neighbourhood Forum has submitted its proposed Neighbourhood Plan to
Camden and Brent Councils, in accordance with the Neighbourhood Planning
Regulations 2012. We are now consulting residents and interested stakeholders on this proposed Plan.

How does this affect me?
A Neighbourhood Plan is a statutory planning document setting out planning policies
for the development and use of land in the area. The Plan sets out a range of
policies on matters including a design code for Kilburn High Road area, public realm
improvements, shopfronts, affordable work spaces, social and community facilities,
and markets / outdoor stalls.

The Neighbourhood Plan, if approved, will be used, alongside Council policies when
making planning decisions in the neighbourhood area.

What happens next?
Once the consultation has finished, the Councils will forward the responses and the
Neighbourhood Plan to an independent examiner. The examiner will assess whether
the plan meets the relevant legislation and statutory requirements. If the plan passes
the examination, a referendum will be organised to give the community the final say
on whether the Plan is to be used in determining planning applications in the
designated neighbourhood area.
