Independent examination

The Neighbourhood Plan and our representations after the Reg 16 will be submitted to the independent examiner. The independent examiner may recommend that some changes are made to the Plan to meet the basic conditions before it can proceed for a public referendum. The Neighbourhood Plan team should discuss these modifications. The changes (intended to ensure KNP’s planning policies and objectives are up for scrutiny) will need to be agreed. These changes (recommended modifications) will be presented to the respective Cabinet of Borough of Brent and Borough of Camden (the executive decision-making body of the Council(s), which comprises of the respective Borough Councillors. They then decide that the Neighbourhood Plan can proceed for a referendum. We are hoping that this referendum be scheduled for the same date as the general elections in 2024.
